That'll Do Nicely.

A great result in the UK election. A comfortable majority for Tony Blair, the end for Michael Howard.

MSP’s! What an appalling waste of time not to mention money. Just the thing Scotland required, more bureaucracy. Notwithstanding, we have another term of, erm, Labour government? Good old Tony. He is inimitable, never before, and hopefully never again, has Conservative Government hidden behind such a translucent red tie. Where, oh where, are the days of the great Labour leaders? When to the left meant, not to the right.

Not surprising that so many indigenous of the UK make no effort to vote. What, after all, is the point? The rancorous dissection of basic human decency indicative of the Thatcher years has created a society of non-believers. This is the reason we find ourselves as the marionette of GWB. I look with consternation and incredulity upon the world. Many of us, admittedly those over 40, remember with affection, days of unqualified optimism. The youth, who are our hope, baulk at unity. Dog eat dog, as Tony knows, is the model. And if you can lick the alpha dogs bum, so much the better.

In light of a topical television program, I am considering amending my alias to “grumpy old man”. Good stuff Colcam keep it up.

Regards,

Entibuli.

Comfortable majority? I don't think so.

Just blogging through.
I was a bit surprised by Tony Blair winning, the other guy must have been quite bad? I haven't been following that closely but thought he'd lose based on his support of the war in Iraq.
I am very unhappy about Bush being our president. The decisions being made thoughout our government is down-right scary.
On another note love your photo's, you really capture the beauty of Scotland. My father's family was from Scotland, I don't know what parts and I have no family there, if I do I don't know them. But I would love to check out your beautiful country one of these years.
Also my husband has been riding a motorcycle for years. Two years ago we went to a bike rally in Sturgis South Dakota and had an absolute blast. A very fun time, and it inspired me to want to learn how to ride myself. I took a beginner's class "ABATE", and began riding a 1200cc Honda Goldwing and really loved it. On my 7th time out I crashed, but was okay. I will attempt to get back on it this summer. I'll need to practice on side roads before I take it out again.
Hope you had a fun Friday the 13th....
