Your Champagne Bill, Sir - You Idiot.
The banker who spent this amount of money on champagne to spray around the club where he held a private party is not clever, he is obscene.
Many years ago I was having a drink in a certain Dundee pub with a guy who earned a fairly large salary and, for some reason I can't recall now, he burnt a five pound note in an ashtray as we stood at the bar. Despite being a regular and very good customer, the rather fierce German woman who owned the pub at the time rounded on the man, and told him loudly and in no uncertain terms that she would not tolerate anyone burning money in front of her customers. She pointed out that there were pensioners in the bar who barely had enough to live on for a week, and that it was obscene to let them watch him destroy money they could have made good use of.
Then she barred him from her pub.
I don't remember if the guy ever got back in again, but if he did it was after a very long banishment.
