Texas, Prayers, And A President In Denial.

"Be calm, be strong, say a prayer for Texas," Governor Rick Perry asks.

Sorry Guv - I don't do prayers.

If I did I would pray that your Commander-In-Chief of climate destruction for profit would get hit on his thick skull by a flying dustbin thrown by Rita.

I would pray that the jarring effect on his brain would knock just enough sense into him to realise what is going on around him.

'Super-powerful hurricanes now hitting the United States are the "smoking gun" of global warming'.
(Sir John Lawton, chairman of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution).

But prayers don't work. They won't stop Hurricane Rita doing whatever she wants to do, and they won't make Bush sign up to Kyoto and do what has to be done.
