Different Reactions To Young Lives Lost.

The tragic deaths of two boys aged 15 and 17 in France, who were electrocuted after apparently being chased by police, have led to rioting in Paris.

The equally tragic deaths of five teenagers, all between the ages of 15 and 17, in a stolen Metro which crashed in East Sussex after apparently being chased by police, have led to....... barely a comment.

Comments:
France doesn't have riots. They have revolutions!

Cincinnati had riots a few years ago for almost the same reason - the French kids died because they accidentally electrocuted themselves while hiding from a cop; the Cincinnati kid got shot by a cop. Our riots only lasted a couple of weeks, and were confined to mostly poor downtown neighborhoods. Reading about the riots in France, seeing that they've spread to - what, 300 towns now? Sheesh, that's scary.

But I digress. You're right, I hadn't heard about the busload of kids in E Sussex.

Erm, Metro full. (Cincinnati buses are called Metros)

Thanks Sarkasmo. The situation in France IS beginning to look a bit like a revolution.

The Metro the British kids died in is a car, a very small one.
The Mini Metro - similar in size to the original British Mini and never designed to carry 5 people.

Lol. Both of us in english speaking countries, yet so much confusion over language and names.

Well, I also used to own a Geo Metro, which I expect is probably what they were driving, but I guess I was more impressed by these kids' ability to steal a whole bus and not some tiny, fiberglass, dishwasher-safe, 3-cylinder matchbox car.
