The Disturbing Case Of Andy Gunn And His Mail.
Hepatitis C campaigner Andy Gunn, who was infected through faulty blood products, has complained to the police that his mail is being intercepted, after a letter from his lawyer in the United States was delivered to his home in Inverness, Scotland, in a House of Lords envelope.
Andy is currently trying to sue the US manufacturers of the blood products which infected him and hundreds of others during the 1980s.
A spokesman for the US lawyers said the letter had been sent to their client's home address in Inverness in their standard office stationery.
The UK Government recently admitted that nearly all its files on the infection of patients through NHS blood products had been destroyed, denying claims of a cover-up and saying the loss was a "regrettable" accident.
A spokesman for the Home Office said it did not comment on "security matters".
A disturbing incident indeed, and the standard Home Office "no comment" trotted out every time they have something to hide is disgracefully inadequate.
