Judge Says Wallace The Wild Boar Is Just A Hairy Pig.

A pig expert told Sheriff Court in Stirling, Scotland, that Ian Hogg, a farmer accused of keeping "wild boar" without a licence, could only have been keeping "hairy pigs" at his smallholding near Dunblane.

Environmental health officials testified that they had seen more than a dozen "wild boar" on Mr Hogg's land.

Dr Macdonald, a senior lecturer at the Royal Veterinary School in Edinburgh, and a specialist in pigs, peccaries and hippos at Edinburgh Zoo, said: "These are effectively domesticated animals which are kept because whoever wants to buy their meat wants to buy it from something that's hairy and looks like it's just come out of the Black Forest. But wild, no. We hunted out the wild boar centuries ago."

Sheriff Andrew Cubie found farmer Hogg not guilty.

I see it's been a slow news day LOL

Scouser, this is rather an important little story illustrating the lack of respect shown by the authorities to the residents of Scotland.

How do you think Wallace the boar felt, being called a hairy pig?

Anyway, I was very tired yesterday :)
