Robert Clive Had A Tortoise.

I vaguely recollect being taught about Clive of India when I was at school, but that was long enough ago for me to have forgotten anything I may have known about him, which was probably exceedingly boring anyway.

I certainly didn't know he had a pet tortoise called Adwaitya, which survived him when he died back in seventeen something, but I do now.

Because it has just died aged 255.

255 years?!?! Can you imagine that? Wow! On the minus side, he couldn't run, jump, swim, ski, pick his nose...oh what the hell, 3 score and ten is OK I guess.

Byronb, I'm a little bemused at the thought of anyone picking their nose for 70 years, never mind 255! :(

And Mushsis - I gave up worrying about pension provision years ago.

Does that mean I might live till....... Nah, surely not!
