The Unedifying Death Of Saddam.

The death of Saddam Hussain, hanged with undue haste after his deeply flawed and bizarre trial for the killing of 148 Shia Muslims in the village of Dujail, and before his separate trial for the slaughter of thousands of Kurds could reach its conclusion, is an ‘important milestone’ according to George Bush.

The fact that Saddam’s execution was no more than a lynching, carried out by puppets blatantly obeying the orders of their American masters, will not worry Bush - it has long been clear that world opinion, human rights, morals and the rest hold little if any truck with the cowboy from Texas and his White House cohorts.

The ordinary people of America, however, may feel the next ‘milestone’ due to be reached within the next couple of weeks – that of the 3,000th US serviceman or woman to be killed in Iraq fighting a losing battle in an illegal war, is considerably more important.

That aside, while few apart from Saddam’s staunchest supporters will mourn him, surely thousands must feel betrayed at not seeing justice done for loved ones cruelly butchered, and who were looking forward to having their day in court, telling their stories on their relatives behalf and helping bring about justice with, hopefully, some sort of closure.

But justice for the Kurds was always going to expose the Americans, who fully supported Saddam in the war against Iran, hence the kangaroo court and the fast track execution.

Of course, questions now arise, as one despot meets his end on the gallows, what of the other players in this deadly game?

What justice for the unknown number of Iraqis who have met with horrific death or injuries at the end of a uranium-tipped missile, phosphorous, or shells fired by the US military, by torture at the hands of US backed Iraqi police, military or government agencies – Iraqi and American, those tortured in Abu Graibh prison, or even by the sanctions imposed before this Bush/Hussein family feud finally spilled over into conflagration like oil flowing over the lip of the frying pan into the fire?

Will Bush, Britain’s Blair and the others in the coalition ever be brought before an international court (as Saddam should have been) to answer for the lies, the deaths, the war crimes and human rights abuses that have tainted the West, the rules of modern civilization, and made the US and the UK less safe places to live?

Bizarre Behaviour, Blatant Bullshit, & Bigotry.

“They wouldn’t care. If you asked them to sodomize their own mother in a movie, they would do so, and they would do it with a smile on their face.”

“I don’t know if Bill Clinton’s gay. But Al Gore – total fag.”

“OK. No offence, and I know Muslims. I like Muslims… With that being said, you are a Democrat. You are saying, ‘Let’s cut and run’, And I have to tell you, I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, ‘Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies,’ “

So, even if he identifies strongly as a Christian… is a man who Muslims think is a Muslim, who feels some sort of psychological need to prove himself to his absent Muslim father, and who is now moving in the direction of his father’s heritage, a man we want as President when we are fighting the war of our lives against Islam? Where will his loyalties be?”

“Cindy Sheehan. That’s a pretty big prostitute out there, you know what I mean?”

“Blowing up Iran. I say we nuke the bastards. In fact, it doesn’t have to be Iran, it can be anywhere, any place that disagrees with me.”

“I want you to think for a moment of how incompetent and stupid and worthless, how – that’s right, I used those words – how incompetent, how ignorant, how worthless is an adult that can’t earn more than the minimum wage? You have to be really, really, really be a pretty pathetic human being to not be able to earn more than the human wage. Uh – human, the minimum wage.”

“Fine, just blow the (Middle East) place up.”

“Do I care if the Sunnis and Shiites kill each other in Iraq? No. I don’t care. Let’ s get our people out of there. Let them kill each other. Maybe they’ll all kill each other, and then we can have a decent country in Iraq.”

“The difference is that Pontius Pilate just wanted to wash his hands of an annoyance, while Baker would wash his hands in the blood of our troops.”

The film (Happy Feet) contains "a whole subtext, as there so often is, about homosexuality."

Some of the views of 'the great and the good' in the United States.

Unfortunately, there are still too many bampots who would believe this sort of stuff.

Mostly in America, I should add.

UK Makes Final WWII Debt Repayment To US.

It is more than sixty years since Britain secured multibillion-dollar loans from America and Canada to help defeat Hitler.

A final payment to both countries will be made later this week.

The US payment, ($83.25 million or £45 million) is only enough to keep troops in Iraq for a bit less than half a day extra and that, at the present rate of casualties, could mean the deaths of another two, perhaps three, American kids.

I hope Uncle Sam spends it on sweeties instead.
